• SOLAR ENERGY

  SOLAR ENERGY

  The term thermal solar energy refers to the transformation of solar radiation into thermal energy. The production of this energy can be used to heat a building partially, or more frequently, to produce domestic hot water.
• HEAT PUMPS

  HEAT PUMPS

  The heat pump works to the same principle as the refrigerator but the effect is reversed. The calories captured in an outside medium, for instance the ground, are transmitted by an evaporator to a refrigerating fluid. This fluid evaporates under the effect of the input of calories. It is then compressed and restores its heat to the heating water or domestic water by means of a condenser. After having restored the heat, the fluid goes through pressure relief and is evaporated again so that a cycle can be restarted.

  The principle of geothermal techniques is to extract the heat contained in the sub-grade ground and use it for heating requirements. Thermal transfers can, in some cases, also be inverted for air conditioning purposes.
  Compared to the other renewable energies, geothermal techniques offer the advantage of independence from weather conditions (sun, rain, wind). Therefore, it is an almost inexhaustible source of energy. Geothermal deposits last several tens of years (on average between 30 and 50 years).

  UNDERGROUND HEAT EXCHANGER

  This a so called "geothermal" system at the ground surface.
  Before air enters the house, it consists in routing the renewed air through pipes buried in the ground at a depth of between 1 and 2 m. In winter, the ground at this depth is warmer than the outside temperature. Therefore, the cold air is preheated as it passes through the pipes. With this system, the air drawn in by an air treatment unit or a double-flow ventilation system is not drawn in directly from the outside (via the aeration vents in the windows) and makes for a saving in terms of heating. In Summer, conversely, the ground is colder than the outside temperature: This inventive "well" will therefore use the relative coolness of the ground to temperate the air drawn into the dwelling.
  A Canadian well is capable of reducing the temperature in your house by several degrees during a heat wave, for unbelievably low electric consumption. Using geothermal energy passively is ideal for cooling air in summer and preheating it in winter.
• COGENERATION

  COGENERATION

  Cogeneration is based on the idea that electrical generation gives off a large amount of heat at a medium temperature, normally dissipated into the environment. In response to a thermal demand (central heating, etc.), it proposes using the electric generation cycle as a thermal source too.
  If there is a simultaneous need for electricity and heat, in the conventional case we might think in terms of a gas turbine and a natural gas boiler whereas in a cogeneration configuration, we make direct use of the heat given off by the motor through a thermal exchange.
  Thermal energy is more often than not used for building central heating and/or the production of domestic hot water.
• DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS

  DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS

  The term "urban heating", "district heating" or "remote heating" refers to a central heating system on the scale of a town or a district.
  Generally, urban central heating involves energy distribution by a network of buried water pipes. Some networks, for instance, can be fed with the heat produced by a household refuse incineration plant.
  The principle of distributing heat through the building is the same except that inside the building, the boiler room equipment is replaced by heat exchangers. The exchangers transfer the heat from the hot water supplied by the city or by industry (primary network) to the secondary heating network which feeds the radiators of the building. This secondary circuit contains water at a high enough temperature to heat the entire building.

As a result of these concerns, the company also offers its services for the standardisation and modernisation of installations: converting boilers to run on less-polluting energy, diversification of the energy mix, etc. These transformations may considerably reduce energy consumption, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.
